Pangulong Marcos: Arrest warrant ng ICC vs Duterte ‘di ihahain
MANILA, Philippines — Nanindigan si Pangulong Ferdinand ‘’Bongbong’’ Marcos Jr. na hindi ihahain ng pamahalaan ang arrest warrant laban kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na magmumula sa International Criminal Court (ICC),
Ayon ito kay Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Garafil, sa gitna ng hakbang ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na maghanda ng briefer sa mga legal na opsyon na magagamit ni Marcos sakaling maglabas ng arrest warrant ang ICC laban kay Duterte.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Marcos na hindi ihahain ng kanyang gobyerno ang anumang arrest warrant mula sa ICC laban kay Duterte.
Sinabi ni Garafil, isang abogado, na ang briefer ay hindi isang ‘’pagbabago sa posisyon’’ ng administrasyong Marcos.
‘’The President’s stance on the ICC remains clear and consistent. However, it is the duty of the Department of Justice to explore all legal avenues and ensure that the President is fully informed of his options,’’ ani Garafil.
‘’This is standard procedure, not a change in position, ensuring that our administration remains prepared for any scenario,’’ dagdag ni Garafil.
