Koko isusulong ang reporma sa partylist system
MANILA, Philippines - Kahit na naglabas ng ruling ang Supreme Court na nagbubukas sa national, regional at sectoral parties na hindi kumakatawan sa marginalized at under-represented sectors ay ipagpapatuloy ni reelectionist Senador Aquilino “Koko†Pimentel III ang pagtulak sa reporma ng partylist system.
“With all due respect to the Supreme Court justices, I believe they have unnecessarily deprived the marginalized and under represented sectors having a voice in legislature,†ani Pimentel.
“The spirit and letter of the partylist law is to give the poor sections of Philippine society the chance to take part in law-making, but the Supreme Court ruling practically closes the door for them to do so,†sabi pa niya.
Puna ng senador mula sa Mindanao, ang SC ruÂling ay magbibigay-daan lamang upang pumasok sa Kongreso ang mayaÂyaman at maiimpluwensiya at dominahan ang sistema.
Kung muling mahahalal, sinabi ng mamÂbabatas na pag-iisahin niya ng magkasalungat na pananaw sa partyÂlist system upang maÂÂging katanggap-tanggap ito sa lahat.
