‘Asia’s dive capital’ makukuha ng Pinas

MANILA, Philippines - Naniniwala si Association on Underwater Activities (AUA) President  Benedict Reyes na makukuha ng Pilipinas ang taguring “Asia’s dive capital kapag tuluyang na-develop ang mahigit 500 unexplored dive sites sa bansa.

“In fact, the Philippines is already being regarded by many foreign divers as the ‘center of center’ of diving in the world,” ani Reyes, isa ring active dive industry practitioner at board member ng Asian Underwater Federation.

Pangungunahan ni  Reyes ang World Underwater Federation General Assembly na gaganapin sa bansa sa Abril 17-23 sa Shangri-la’s Mactan Resort and Spa kung saan  magkikita-kita ang 150 underwater federation leaders mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo na ipinadala pa ng kani-kanilang pamahalaan bilang mga representante.

Suportado naman ng Department of Tourism (DOT) ang gaganaping kauna-una­hang international dive expo sa bansa.

Mismong si Tourism Sec. Ramon R. Jimenez, Jr. ang mangunguna  sa tinatawag na World Dive, na ilulunsad bilang World DEEP (Dive Expo and Exhibition Philippines) na isasagawa mula Abril 18 hanggang 21, kasabay ng World Underwater Federation’s 13th Elective General Assembly.
