MANILA, Philippines — Bigo si Pinoy fighter Melvin Jerusalem na ma­idepensa ang kanyang suot na World Boxing Organization (WBO) minimumweight crown matapos matalo kay Oscar Collazo ng Puerto Rico via seventh round Technical Knockout (TKO) kahapon sa Fantasy Springs Resort Casino sa Indio, California.

Ito ang unang title de­fense ng 29-anyos na si Je­rusalem (20-3-0, 12 KOs) matapos umiskor ng isang second round knockout kay Japanese Ma­sataka Taniguchi sa Osaka noong Enero.

May 7-0-0 (5 KOs) record, ang 26-anyos na si Collazo ang naging unang world champion na may pinakakonting laban.

Unti-unting pinahina ni Collazo si Jerusalem sa gitna ng kanilang 12-round fight.

Sa round seven ay sumuray si Jerusalem mula sa pagrapido ni Collazo kung saan sinabihan ng corner ng Pinoy si referee Ray Corona na ihinto na ang laban.

Si Collazo ay nasa ila­lim ni dating world champion Miguel Cotto na dati nang tinalo ni Filipino world eight-division titlist Manny Pacquiao.
