MANILA, Philippines — Dahil sa kakapusan sa pondo ay napilitan ang Philippine Paralympic Committee na iurong ang pagdaraos ng 10th ASEAN Paragames sa Marso mula sa original date na Enero 18-25 sa susunod na taon.
Ito ang kinumpirma kahapon ni PPC president Michael Barredo matapos ipaalam sa kanya ng Philippine Sports Commission ang sitwasyon.
“Kung sa Marso wala pa ring budget para sa Paragames, baka hindi na natin maituloy iyan,” wika ni PSC chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez.
Tradisyunal na ginagawa ang Paragames, ang twin-event ng Southeast Asian Games, matapos ang biennial meet.
“While we have made every effort to prepare the Games in the past one and a half years, matters well beyond our control are compelling us to reschedule the event,” wika naman ni Barredo.
Payag din siyang idaos ang Paragames sa Marso ng susunod na taon “to be able to have enough time for financial and logistical matters to be settled.”
