MANILA, Philippines — Tamang chemistry ang nakitang kulang ng Japanese at Gunma Bank Green Wings head coach na si Isihara Akihisa sa Philippine women’s national volleyball team.
Sa pakikipagtuos ng Nationals sa tune-up noong Huwebes kontra sa Green Wings sa Gunma Prefecture Sports Center ay muling nakalasap ng kabiguan ang Nationals matapos matalo sa Angel Cross noong Martes.
Sa unang sabak ng tropa sa tune-up game ay nawalis sila ng Gunma Bank, 20-25, 19-25, 8-25, at matapos lang ang ilang oras ay muli naman silang pinadapa, 16-25, 21-25, 20-25, 25-20.
“The individual players have (great) potential, their skills are very high. But in the court, the six players must be coordinated. The combinations sometimes are not very good,” sabi ni Akihisa.
“We have this (chemistry) advantage on the court. The coordination and combination of the six players will help you a lot,” dagdag pa nito.
Kahit nabigo ang koponan sa dalawang tune-up games laban sa ilang club teams sa Japan ay masaya pa rin si national team coach Shaq delos Santos sa mga improvement na nakikita niya.
Nakarating noong Huwebes sa Japan ang ilang miyembro ng Nationals na sina Jovelyn Gonzaga, Eya Laure at assistant coach Kungfu Reyes para sumama sa training camp nila roon, habang balik-Maynila naman sina Alyssa Valdez at Jia Morado para sumabak sa semifinals ng Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference.
