14-gold pa sa PSL sa Japan swimfest
TOKYO - Umani pa ang Philippine Swimming League (PSL) ng 14 gintong medalya sa 2018 Japan Age-Group Swimming Championship na ginanap sa St. Mary’s International School swimming pool dito.
Hindi maawat si Palarong Pambansa-bound Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh nang magtala pa ito ng dalawang rekord sa girls’ 11-12 division.
Naitala ni Mojdeh ang 30.65 segundo sa 50m butterfly upang wasakin ang 31.30 dating marka na agad nitong sinundan ng isa pang record-breaking feat sa 100m Individual Medley tangan ang isang minuto at 11.44 segundo para tabunan ang lumang rekord na 1:12.78.
Nakumpleto naman nina Richelle Anne Callera ang matamis na six-gold sweep sa girls’ 8-under kung saan umani ito ng tatlong ginto - 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle at 50m butterfly - sa hu-ling araw ng kumpetisyon.
Nauna nang nagreyna si Callera sa 25m butterly, 100m IM at 25m freestyle.
Nag-ambag din ng dalawang ginto sina Aishel Cid Evangelista sa boys’ 8-under 25m backstroke at 50m butterfly, at Coby Marcus Rivilla sa boys 9-10 100m backstroke at 100m freestyle habang nakaginto si Trump Christian Luis-tro sa boys’ 9-10 50m breaststroke.
May apat na ginto rin sa medley relay mula sa girls’ 200m medley relay, girls’ 200m freestyle relay, boys’ 200m medley relay at boys’ 200m freestyle medley relay.
“It’s such an amazing performance by these young swimmers. We’re so proud of what they’ve achieved here. They competed against much taller rivals and yet they came up with record-breaking performance,” wika ni PSL President Susan Papa.
Nakahirit ng apat na pilak si Wisenheimer Academy Marc Bryan Dula sa boys’ 11-12 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 50m backstroke at 100m backstroke habang nakapilak rin sina Evangelista (50m backstroke), Rivilla (50m butterfly) at Luistro (50m butterfly).
