National athletes bibigyan ng mas malaking insentibo

MANILA, Philippines – Pagtitibayin ng Kongreso ang isang panukala na magpapalawig sa nasasakop ng insentibong ibi­nibigay para sa mga national athletes at coaches.

“I am hoping that the bicameral conference pa­nel would be able to reconcile conflicting provisions of the proposed act,” sabi ni Rep. Anthony G. Del Rosario ng First District ng Davao del Nor­te, ang chairperson ng House Committee on Youth and Sports Development.

Ang House bill ang magbibigay ng benepisyo sa mga national athletes na nanalo sa mga international sports competitions.

Hindi kasamang tatanggap ng insentibo at be­ne­pisyo ang mga trainers, ngunit idinagdag naman ang athletes with disabilities.

Ang mga gold medalists ay tatanggap ng P10 mil­yon para sa Summer Olympic at Winter Olympic Games, P5 milyon para sa Youth Olympic Games at Paralympic Games; P2 milyon para sa Asian Games at Asian Winter Games; 1 milyon para sa Asian Paralympic Games, Asian Indoor at Mar­tial Arts Games at world-level competitions  na idinadaos kada dalawang taon at may halos 45 bansang kalahok; P500,000 para sa Asian Beach Games; P300,000 para sa Southeast Asian Games; at P150,000 para sa ASEAN Para Games.
