Oden gagawin ang makakaya

INDIANAPOLIS  -- May karapatan si Greg Oden na maging dismayado.

Sumailalim ang dating No. 1 overall pick mula sa Ohio State ng tatlong micro fracture knee surgeries, ang huli ay noong Pebrero ng 2012, at hindi pa nagla-laro sa NBA sapul noong Disyembre 5, 2009.

Hindi ito ang career na inaasahan ni Oden.

Ngunit maganda ang ngiti ng dating Portland Trail Blazer sa isang press conference sa St. Vincent Sports Performance noong Sabado.

Iiwanan niya ang Indianapolis sa Lunes matapos lumagda sa isang two-year, $2.173 million deal sa two-time defending champion Miami Heat.  Ang kanyang ikalawang taon ay isang player option.

“After three years of being out, I’m just going to go out and do what I can,’’ sabi ni Oden. “If somehow (my body) says no, then it says no. But for me, I’m not even worried about that. Just go play and not even think about that.

“I’ve signed on the dotted line, put it like that. I’ve got a contract. As y’all can see this smile, I’ve got a contract. I’m excited.’’
