Reyes nasiyahan sa ipinakita ng Gilas Pilipinas vs Sharks

MANILA, Philippines - Masaya si National coach Chot Reyes at nag-laro ng todo-todo sina Jeff Chan, Gary David, Gabe Norwood, Japeth Aguilar at Junmar Fajardo sa laban kontra sa Shanghai Sharks sa kanilang exhibition game sa MOA Arena kahapon kahit pagod pa dahil kinaumagahan lamang sila dumating mula sa Davao kung saan lumaro din sila sa PBA All-Star game.

Ang ipinakitang ito ng mga manlalaro ay patunay sa kanilang dedikasyon at kahandaan na katawanin ang National team kahit dumanas pa ng hirap.

“The team is still to be build but at least we are seeing people who just love to be there. We have five guys who really love to be in the National team. You got to give it to them and it augurs well for the team in general,” dagdag pa  ni Reyes.

Dinibdib din ng National team ang sinabi ni Shanghai Sharks team owner at dating NBA player na si Yao Ming na para magtagumpay ay kailangan munang talunin ng koponan ang China.

“I agree with him (Yao) that any qualification dream by us will have to go through beating China,” sabi ni Reyes. “I also have to add that we also need to beat Iran because they’re the two best basketball country in Asia.”

Sa Hunyo magsisimu-la ang walang-puknat na pagsasanay at nananalig si Reyes na sapat ito para makuha ng koponang pamumunuan ni naturalized 6’10” center Marcus Douthit, ang istilo na maglalagay sa bansa sa unang tatlong puwesto matapos ang kompetisyon.

Ang mga lalapag sa top three ay aabante sa FIBA World Cup sa Spain sa 2014.

Habang sinusulat ang balitang ito ay kasaluku-yang nakikipaglaban ang Shanghai Sharks sa PBA Selection team sa Smart Araneta Coliseum kagabi  bilang bahagi ng three-day Philippine-China Friendship Games.
