SAN FRANCISCO – Sinabi ni point guard Brandon Jennings, malapit nang maging restricted free agent, na kung pipirma siya ng one-year qualifying offer sa Milwaukee ngayong offseason, asahang tatagal na lamang siya ng isang season sa Bucks.
“If I take the qualifying offer and become an [unrestricted] free agent there is no way I am coming back,†sabi ni Jennings. “There is no way.â€
Kinokonsidera ni Jennings ang Milwaukee na isang ‘great sports town’ at nag-e-enjoy siya rito ngunit para tumagal siya dito, kailangang malaki ang alok sa kanya at kailangang balasahin ang roster at ang buong organisasyon para maging palaban sa championship.
Tinanggihan niya ang four-year, $40 million deal bago ang season na ito, ayon sa source ng Yahoo! Sports. Ang isang one-year qualifying offer ay magkakahalaga ng tinatatayang $4.5 million para kay Jennings.
“It’s not unfair to make that statement if he feels there is not a deal fair to him this summer,†sabi ni Bucks general manager John Hammond ukol sa paninindigan ni Jennings. “I would be surprised if it happens. But he is opera-ting within the [collective bargaining] rules. I’m not taken aback. It’s a natural discussion to have.â€
