Hindi dapat nagde-demand si Fuentes - Aldeguer

MANILA, Philippines - Sinabi ni ALA Promotions chairman Tony Aldeguer kahapon na walang karapatan si  Mexican fighter Moises Fuentes na mag-demand ng rematch na walang Filipino judge kung gagawin ito sa Manila o Cebu at iginiit niyang karapat-dapat si defending WBO lightflyweight champion Donnie Nietes na manalo sa pamamagitan ng decision sa kanilang 12-round bout na nagtapos sa majority draw sa Waterfront Hotel Pacific Ballroom sa Lahug noong Sabado ng gabi .

Iniulat na sinabi ni Mexican ring legend Marco Antonio Barrera, naka-babatang kapatid ni Jorge Barrera na manager ni Fuentes,  na papayag lang siyang labanan uli ni Fuentes si Nietes sa Manila o Cebu kung walang Filipino judge na ilalagay si WBO president Paco Valcarcel. 

Sinabi ng kaibigan ni Barrera na si Jeff de Guzman na sa tingin ng Mexican hero ay nanalo si Fuentes ng di hamak sa apat na rounds ngunit ki-bit balikat nilang tinanggap ang naging desisyon at sinabing “that’s part of boxing.”

Ngunit kumbinsido si Aldeguer na ginawa ang lahat ni  Nietes para manalo. “I’m not very pleased with the decision,” aniya.  “Yes, it was a close and tough fight but Donnie was never hurt while Fuentes was rocked a few times and obviously, Nietes threw the clearer and harder punches but admittedly, Fuentes threw more punches but missed a lot, too.”

Sinabi rin ni  Aldeguer na sa huling two rounds na ibinigay ng mga judges kay Nietes, maganda  talaga ang ipinakita ni Nietes.

“Donnie displayed excellent footwork and skill which made Fuentes look bad,” aniya.

Sinabi ni Aldeguer na hindi dapat nagde-demand ang kampo ni Fuentes  sa posibleng rematch.

“Nietes fought and defended his (WBO minimumweight) title three times in Mexico and we never complained (about the judges),” sabi ni Aldeguer.  “In two of those three fights, a Mexican judge was assigned.  When Filipino fighters fight in the US, Mexican-American judges are assigned and we never complain.  That’s very unfair for the Mexicans to make the demand of no Filipino judge.
