SAN ANTONIO --- Pinauwi ni coach Gregg Popovich ang kanyang apat na players sa San Antonio bago ang kanilang laro ng Miami Heat.
Dahilan sa itinago niya ito, pinagmulta ang Spurs ng $250,000 ng NBA.
Sinabi ni NBA Commissioner David Stern na ang Spurs “did a disservice to the league and our fans” nang hindi nito paglaruin sina Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili o si Danny Green kontra sa Heat para sa huling laro ng kanilang six-game trip.
“The result here is dictated by the totality of the facts in this case,” sabi ni Stern sa isang statement. “The Spurs decided to make four of their top players unavailable for an early-season game that was the team’s only regular-season visit to Miami. The team also did this without informing the Heat, the media, or the league office in a timely way. Under these circumstances, I have concluded that the Spurs did a disservice to the league and our fans.”
Ang mga koponan ay pinagre-report sakaling mayroon silang player na hindi makakabiyahe dahil sa injury.
Hindi naman nagpalabas ng komento ang Spurs kaugnay sa kanilang multa.
Sinabi ni Stern na kinasasabikan ng mga fans ang pagtapat ng Spurs kina Miami superstars LeBron James, Dwyane Wade at Chris Bosh.
