Direk Bobot game makipag-‘reconcile’ kay Vilma
Is Edgar Mortiz, former matinee idol and now successful director and producer of the well-followed programs, Banana Sundae and kiddie show, Goin’ Bulilit, staging a comeback as an actor?
Direk Bobot, tawag sa kanya ng mga kaibigan, is playing the adopted dad of Enrique Gil in the upcoming series, Dolce Amore. Playing his wife is Rio Locsin.
Follow up question for him, before nasagot niya ang unang tanong sa kanya, will he agree to do either a TV and movie project with Ate Vi (referring, of course, to Batangas Governor Vilma Santos?)
Ate Vi’s movie after three years, Everything About Her, co-starring her with Angel Locsin and Xian Lim, with Joyce Bernal directing is currently hitting it big at the box-office.
“Well,” nakatawa, ani Direk Bobot. “Let me answer first the unang tanong.
“Hindi ko pa masabi if after Dolce Amore, I will do another series. Or, perhaps a movie.
“Depende sa project.
“On the second question if I’d agree na makipag-reunion with Vilma, (Santos) in a project, why not?
“Kailangang pumayag muna siya (Ate Vi),” pahayag pa ni Direk Bobot.
A bit of nostalgia. In their time, when they were both teenagers, Ate Vi and Direk Edgar were a tandem to reckon with.
Their team up was known as the Vi and Bot.
Wala silang project together na hindi tinangkilik ng manonood.
Mga Vi and Bot fans man ito o hindi.
Surprisingly, when they become older, naging busy si Ate Vi as a solo star. Naka-team-up siya ng mga naglalakihang leading men in their time, among whom, sina Fernando Poe Jr., Christopher de Leon, Gabby Concepcion and Aga Muhlach.
Direk Bobot turned to TV and movie directing naman.
And the rest, wika nga, is history.
Now both married and happily, too, Direk Bobot has an edge kay Ate Vi, since nakakalima na pala siyang apo sa kanyang apat na anak with wife, Milette Santos.
In Ate Vi’s case, humiling na siya ng apo from elder son (with Edu Manzano) na si Luis Manzano.
His son with current husband, Senator Ralph Recto, Ryan Christian, is only 19 years old.
Dolce Amore, na-capture ang Italy
Of Dolce Amore, aside from Enrique Gil, Rio Locsin ang Direk Bubot, the series, directed by Cathy Garcia Molina and produced by Star Creatives, headed by Malou Santos, concurrently, too, managing director of Star Cinema, also stars Kean Cipriano, Matteo Guidicelli, Sunshine Cruz, Cherrie Gil, Andrew E., Frenchie Dy and introducing Ruben Maria Soriquez, an Italian.
Dolce Amore was partly filled is Italy.
Shy at Mark, mabilis nagkagustuhan
Excited si Mark Neumann with his current team-up with Shy Carlos in the upcoming TV5 series, Tasya Fantasya.
“I like her, from the first day we both faced the TV cameras,” ani Mark, who admits na lumaki siya abroad but can now speaks Tagalog fluently.
“Ang bait ni Shy. Bukod sa magaling at enjoyable to work with siya.”
“Me too,” susog ni Shy. “Gusto ko si Mark. Nakatulong ng malaki na nag-workshop muna kami, bago kami isinalang pareho sa harap ng cameras.
“Maganda ang rapport namin bilang magka-love team ni Mark.
“At ito’y mapapatunayan kapag sinimulan nang isahimpapawid ang Tasya Fantasya, which will start February 6.”
Tasya Fantasya, which has Ricky Rivero directing, is based on an iconic komiks serial authored by Komiks King Carlo J. Caparas, na isang magaling ding TV and movie dirertor.
With wife, Donna Villa, Direk Carlo J. also produces films.
