John Lapus sinusuwerte

Ang ganda ng taong 2015 kay John Lapus, who is known too, sa showbiz na Universal Sweet.

Last year was not as good, pag-amin ni John, na nakikita lang ng kanyang mga tagahanga sa kanyang online gossip program.

But this year, kasama si John sa cast ng Resureksiyon also stars Isabelle Daza, Jazmine Curtis-Smith, at Paulo Avelino.

John is also in the cast, too, ng tren­ding at high rating afternoon series, Doble Kara with Julia Montes playing the title role.

Julia nakakasayaw pala

Speaking of Julia, bumanat siya ng sayaw with one of her leading men sa Doble Kara na si Edgar Allan Guzman (the other is Anjo Damiles), in last Saturday’s 6th anniversary presentation of It’s Showtime, which was staged at the Araneta Coliseum.

Kahit kilala si Julia as a dramatic actress, umani ng masigabong palakpakan ang dance number nila ni Edgar.

Well, ‘di raw magtataka ang mga tagasubaybay ni Julia if after Doble Kara, ma-feature naman siya sa isang dance show.

Kim masayang naging kabit

Kim Chiu cannot imagine herself becoming a mistress, like her role in the movie, Etiquette for Mistresses, which is set to open Wednesday, September 30.

Today, Monday, Sept. 28, ang premiere ng pelikula sa Megamall.

In Etiquette…, directed by Chito Roño, Kim plays a young lounge singer from the province na na-in love at naging kabit ng isang businessman (played by Zoren Legaspi).

‘‘Bawat mistress yata na tunay na umiibig sa kanyang kabit ay ganun sa role na ginagampanan ko.

‘‘Iyong hoping in the end na mas bibigyan ka ng halaga ng lalaki kesa kanyang asawa at pamilya.

‘‘Na ‘di lang maling akala, kung hindi mortal sin pa,’’ pahayag pa ni Kim.

Nonetheless, Kim considers the movie a big break for her as it’s her first time to play a mature role. And its not every actress, especially young and quite raw as she is, na makatrabaho ang mga seasoned performers, tulad nina Kris Aquino, Iza Calzado, at Claudine Barretto.

‘‘My special thanks to Direk Chito, na talagang tumutok sa akin, lalo na sa mga difficult scenes ko sa movie,’’ sabi pa ni Kim.

Direk Chito hindi interesado sa pulitika

Speaking of Direk Chito, we had the chance na matanong siya when we bumped into him sa parlor ni Bambi Fuentes on Timog Avenue, Quezon City.

He was having manicure and pedicure.

In any case, we asked Direk Chito if ‘di sa kanyang isipan pumasok ang pulitika, since in Samar, Leyte, kilala ang mga Roño as a family of politicians.

His Dad, in his time, hold at his own position in the government. Para sa sagot sa aming tanong, umiling lang si Direk Chito.

Well, if and when Direk Chito decides to make subok sa pulitika, tiyak malaking kawalan siya sa showbiz. Every performer, lalo’t sa ABS-CBN at Star Cinema, is willing to give his/her right arm just to have the chance to work with Direk Chito.
