Did we hear it right that former sweethearts JM de Guzman and Jessy Mendiola might reconcile?
Matatandaang na-rehab si JM due to substance abuse, and one of those na bini-blame ay ang diumano’y pakikipag-break ni Jessy sa kanya.
Which of course, JM vehemently denies.
Na-link sina JM at Jessy sa isa’t isa when they did the series Angelito, Ang Batang Ama, where JM played the title role.
Bagama’t nagpapasalamat siya, in a way, na naranasan niya ito, since marami raw siyang natutunan.
Now back to form kumbaga, JM’s performance in what was popularly referred to as a ‘‘hugot’’ movie, That Thing Called Tadhana, kung saan gumanap siyang leading man ni Angelica Panganiban ay ‘di matatawaran.
Directed by Antoinette Jadaone, who also wrote the story and script, it won praises from the critics. Likewise, JM and Angelica were cited for their respective performance, as two strangers while on trip back home from Europe and travelled together in some beautiful destinations in the country.
Busy ngayon sina JM and Angelica with their current projects. JM with an indie movie, Papa’s Boy, kasama ang komedyanteng si Benjie Paras. Si Angelica naman ay sa taping ng serye, the remake of Pangako Sa ’Yo.
Likewise, Jessy has just finished a movie, co-starring her with Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta.
Their fans hope they can do a project together soon, mapa-movie o pang-TV, it doesn’t matter, they added.
Sabi ng bagong singer-composer na si Marion Aunor that while she feels honored carrying the family name, Aunor, which actually is her mom, Lala’s real surname, she feels challenged, too.
After all, she explained, the family name is more identified with the Superstar Nora Aunor.
‘‘But the late Dr. (Jose) Perez, who gave my aunt her first break as a singer and then actress, decided to have her adapt my grandfather’s surname Aunor.
‘‘It was my Lola (her mom’s mother), who guided my aunt as a singer.
‘‘Actually, she had a hand too, sa pagiging singer ko ngayon.’’
Marion has been in the music business for only two years. Her name first surfaced nang sumali siya sa 2013 Himig Handog as a singer-songwriter.
Kahit hindi siya nagwagi sa Himig Handog, somehow, doors were opened for her in the music business. Soon, ang kanyang entry na If Ever You Change Your Mind, ay maririnig nang pinatutugtog.
She came to know as well, Roxy Liquigan, head of Star Music, which will soon release her second album, Take a Chance.
“Mabait sa akin si Mr. Roxy,’’ ani Marion. ‘‘Very supportive and encouraging, too.
‘‘He helped me chose the photo na ginamit for the poster of my first solo concert, titled, too, Take a Chance,’’ Marion beamed.
Ang kanyang concert na Take a Chance will happen April 10, her 23rd birthday sa Teatrino. She will sing a number of her own compositions, mga sinulat nina Joven Tan and Jonathan Manalo.
By the way, ang dalawa sa sikat na composition ni Marion na You Don’t Know Me and Goodbye Miss are the carrier singles, respectively, of Kathryn Bernardo and Alex Gonzaga’s debut album.
