Isabelle Daza lilipat na sa ABS-CBN
In his upcoming series, Dream Dad, Zanjoe Marudo is again playing adopted Dad, this time, to five year-old Jana Agoncillo.
Ten years old naman at that time si Andrea Brillante, when she portrayed bilang adopted daughter ni Zanjoe in the series, Annaliza.
While both teleserye, according to Zanjoe, are drama in a way, mas lighter ‘di hamak itong Dream Dad. Yes, compared to Annaliza.
Obviously, ayon kay Zanjoe na rin, dahil bata nga supposedly ang adopted niyang si Jana. And guess what? The production behind Dream Dad is the same team which produced the long-time and well-followed, not to say, much loved pre-noontime series, Be Careful With My Heart.
Business Unit head of Dream Dad is Jinny Ocampo, who was also the BUH ng Be Careful… Creative head din nito si Mel Mendoza del Rosario.
And most of all, ang magdidirek nito ay ang Be Careful… director din na si Jeffrey Jeturian.
Dream Dad will serve as the comeback series ni Maxene, ngayong isa na uli siyang Kapamilya.
She plays a flirt daw and matindi ang pagkaka-gusto niya kay Zanjoe. Beauty Gonzales acts bilang kanyang close friend.
Also staging a comeback in Dream Dad is Ariel Ureta, who, lately, ay higit nating hinahangaan sa isang programa sa DZMM bilang co-host ni Winnie Cordero.
But, of course, daily din siyang napapanood sa Umagang Kay Ganda (UKG).
Actually, it was these two programs niya, ayon kay Ariel, which almost prevented him from accepting his role bilang ama ni Zanjoe at asawa ni Gloria Diaz sa Dream Dad.
Magiging busy nga naman siya with three daily shows.
In any case, magandang experience daw ito sa kanya, since Dream Dad will be his first full-length series.
Gloria Diaz, on the other hand, had been busy doing one teleserye after another on ABS-CBN. Occasionally, gumagawa rin siya ng pelikula. Mostly mother roles. Which she doesn’t mind, she said, as she is Mom na nga naman to two daughters at one adopted son, na dahilan kung bakit isang Lola nang matatawag ang first Miss Universe ng Pilipinas.
From Gloria, we heard, that her daughter Isabelle, now currently a GMA 7 talent, will, like Maxene (formerly herself a Kapuso), join ABS-CBN, too.
Isabelle has, at one time, appeared in a Star Cinema movie, It Takes a Man and a Woman, co-starring her with John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo.
Pagkatapos ng Pure Love, Yen pasok agad sa DD…
Of Jana, yes, the child actress playing Zanjoe’s daughter, if she looks familiar, it is because lumabas siya sa ilang commercial, the most visible of which was for a fast food chain.
To get the role, five year-old Jana said she submitted to an audition. Marami raw silang mga batang sumali sa audition.
And why did she think she got the role.
‘‘Kasi po,’’ proudly she replied, ‘‘cute ako.’’

Playing Jana’s mom in Dream Dad is another former PBB (Pinoy Big Brother) housemate, like Beauty and Zanjoe, is Yen Santos.
Yen has just appeared bilang nakakatandang kapatid ni Alex Gonzaga in the series which wrapped up kahapon, Friday), Pure Love.
Well, ang timeslot na binakante ng Pure Love (5:30 to 6:30 p.m., before TV Patrol) ang, henceforth, ay magsasahimpapawid na ng Dream Dad.
Also in the cast of Dream Dad are Ana Feleo, Katya Santos, Dante Ponce, at Ketchup Eusebio.
