Somebody to Love… pang-birthday ni Mother Lily

Today, August 19, is the birthday of a most beloved person in the industry, Mother Lily Monteverde.

Kaya, let’s all greet her happy birthday.

As in the past, ipagdiriwang ni Mother Lily ang kanyang kaarawan, this time, sa kanyang bagong tayong events place, ang 38 Valencia. Inaasahan ang pagdalo ng lahat ng nagmamahal sa kanya. (Happy birthday Mother Lily. We love you. - SVA)

For her birthday presentation, Mother Lily, is releasing her current production, aptly titled Somebody to Love. As she always said: ‘‘We all have somebody to love in the industry.”

Directed by Joey Javier Reyes, Somebody to Love, which opens in theaters nationwide, tomorrow, August 20, stars Carla Abellana, Matteo Guidicelli, Jason Abalos, Iza Calzado, Maricar Reyes, Jaclyn Jose, Alex Castro, Nathalia Hart (dating Princess Smell), at Kiray Celis, among others.

Somebody to Love is, according to Mother Lily, Direk Joey’s comeback movie sa Regal Films, although he actually started with her production.

‘‘Nagsimula siyang scriptwriter, then graduated to  directing via the movie Regal Shocker.

‘‘Kung ilang movies pa ang ginawa ni Direk Joey sa Regal Films, bago siya pumalaot sa ibang produksyon.

‘‘But each time I see him, sinasabi ko sa kanya, anytime you want to direct for me again, you are welcome,’’ patuloy pa ni Mother Lily.

Currently, may next project na si Direk Joey with Regal Films. Ito ’yong Diliman na isa si Rayver Cruz sa mga bida.

May kasalukuyan daw binabalak na pelikula si Direk Joey tungkol sa young Filipino Chinese, meaning mga anak ng isang Pilipino Chinese, na ipinanganak at lumaki sa Pilipinas.

Obvious na na-inspire si Direk Joey, when he was invited na i-acting workshop ang mga young Chinoys na kasali sa katatapos na Mr. and Miss Chinatown.

Regal Films, of course, ang magpu-produce ng movie.

Kiray nag-eeklay

Kiyeme lang ba ni Kiray Ciles, when at the presscon of Somebody to Love, she was asked kung may boyfriend na siya.

Ang maliksing reply niya: “Wala pa.”

So, kailan siya magkaka-boyfriend? E, 19 na nga naman siya.

Ang kanyang pahayag: ‘‘Kapag okay na sa mommy ko. Breadwinner kasi ako ng aking pamilya.’’

In any case, what’s this, we heard, na may isang production assistant (P.A.) ng isang kilalang director, na diumano’y dahil sa ma­tinding pagmamahal kay Kiray, pina-tattoo nito ang isang larawan ng batang komedyante sa kanyang dibdib.

Don’t tell me na ‘di aware tungkol sa bagay na ito si Kiray, samantalang talk of the town na ito, kumbaga.

At malamang na umaasa nga ang personal assistant na one day soon, magiging ‘‘sila’’ ni Kiray.

Hoy, Kiray, haba naman ng buhok mo.

Nagsimula si Kiray in showbiz bilang member ng Goin’ Bulilit, she is now a regular ng Luv U, which airs Sunday on ABS-CBN.

Igi Boy Flores remains her ka-love team. Dati na silang pinagtambal noon pa mang kanilang Goin’ Bulilit days.

But this time, believable na sabihin ni Kiray na wala ngang namamagitan sa kanila ni Igi Boy, maliban sa kanilang closeness as a love team.

While Kiray is currently in the cast of Somebody to Love, Igi Boy was last seen in the Kathryn Bernardo-Daniel Padilla blockbuster movie, She’s Dating the Gangstar.
