Hoy, Salve A., guess kung sino itong top star na ’di namin tutukuyin if she excels sa comedy or drama, na usap-usapan among those who have worked with her dahil sa kanyang ’di gaanong magandang ugali.

Sabi nga ng isang dating nagtatrabaho sa kanya, ‘‘Magaling talaga siyang artista on and off the cameras.’’

Wow, Salve A., congratulations are in order for bagong magka-team na sina Maricel Soriano at Eugene Domingo. Their first movie together currently being shown, ang Momzillas, according to June Rufino, supervising producer ng Viva Films na co-producer ng Star Cinema, is doing very well at the tills.

Small wonder that both of them are grinning from ear to ear. As well as Joey Paras, Candy Pangilinan, and senior stars Luz Valdez at Divina Valencia.

The happiest among them, of course, is Wenn Deramas, director ng Momzillas.

It was his idea, he said, to team up the two in a movie. At heto, dahil nga sa box-office hit ang movie, he didn’t prove wrong once again.

It was also Direk Wenn, if you recall, who gave AiAi delas Alas her first biggest hit, Ang Tanging Ina Mo. Sa kanya rin utang na loob ni Vice Ganda, kung bakit box-office star siya dahil sa magkasunud-sunod niyang hit na Petrang Kabayo, Praybeyt Benjamin, and last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, Sisterakas.

Once more, they are working again as star and director in the MMFF entry for this year, again ng Star Cinema at Viva Films, ang Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy, where for the first time ay ipo-portray  bilang ina ni Vice si Maricel.

Ipapalabas ito right after Momzillas.

Transit, 62 ang kalaban sa Oscars!

Anne Curtis is happy for younger sister Jasmine Curtis Smith dahil ang indie movie nitong Transit ang napili ng Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) na ipadala ng Pilipinas sa darating na Academy Awards o Oscars.

Produced by Paul Soriano, Transit, is written and directed by Hannah Espia, who was awarded the best director in the 9th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. Transit, likewise, won nine other awards in the 2013 Cinemalaya filmfest.

Should Transit become the Philippines’ official entry to the Oscars, it will vie for the best foreign language category.

All in all daw, 63 films from around the world will compete for the honor.

As we all know, she used to own and run a restaurant sa Morato Street sa Quezon City which eventually closed shop.

Then she opened one again sa Riverbanks in Marikina naman, na, unfortunately, ay isinara rin niya.

Well, for the next eatery business she might put up this time, she will call Hazelberry dahil ang ise-serve niya ay pawang baked goodies, na siya mismo ang nag-bake and from her own recipes as well.

As it is, she’s already in the business. At bagama’t talagang friends lang niya ang halos kanyang customers, she’s doing very well.

Ara hopes to be able to save, yes, from the earnings na kanyang kinikita ngayon from her current baking business nang ito na rin daw mismo ang gagawin niyang kapital kapag nag-open siya ng bakery. Marahil daw somewhere in Bulacan, Bulacan.

It is public knowledge na ang current ‘‘one and only’’ ni Ara sa kasalukuyan ay ang incumbent mayor ng Bulacan, Bulacan, si Patrick Meneses.
