Former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) ‘‘boar­der’’ Tom Rodriguez has just signed up with a two-picture deal with Viva Films.

Ayon kay June Rufi­no ng Viva Group of Com­panies, it’s not yet known though kung alin sa eight movie projects na gagawin nila for this year and the following year mapapasama si Tom.

Another new contractee ng Viva Films is Joey Paras, discovery ni Direk Wenn Deramas, who was last seen in Bromance, which Skylight Films, sister movie firm ng Star Cinema and headed by Enrico Santos, produced.

Bromance had Zanjoe Marudo playing a dual role.

Formerly a talent ni Boy Abunda, Tom is now being managed by Popoy Caritativo, former talent manager ni Marian Rivera.

Si Popoy din ang nagma-manage ng showbiz careers nina Dennis Trillo at Rafael Rosell.

Tom is getting plaudits for his role as the closet husband of Carla Abellana who has an affair with another closet queen played by Dennis, in GMA 7’s series My Husband’s Lover.

What apparently Julian Ejercito lost proved to be his cousin Kiko Estrada’s gain?

At the presscon ng Star Magic, where Julian together with Julia Barretto and eight other new talents were introduced to members of the entertainment press, vocal in his admiration for the lead actress si Julian. Ani pa nga niya, sana kapag nagkaroon ng kanyang first project si Julia ay siya ang mapiling leading man.

But as we all know, kay Kiko na natoka ang pagiging leading man sana ni Julian sa kanyang first title series, Mira Bella.

Diego Loyzaga naman, anak ni Cesar Montano sa dating aktres na si Teresa Loyzaga, and other leading man ni Julia sa serye.

Julian and Kiko, by blood, are related. Second cousins sila kasi Kiko’s daddy, si Gary Estrada, is the son of the late actor George Estregan na nakababatang kapatid ni former President Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.

Mayor Joseph is, of course, the father of Sen. Jing­goy Estrada, ama ni Julian. Mommy niya si Precy Vitug.

Mommy naman ni Kiko si Cheska Diaz, na ang father naman ay ang kilalang late kontrabida na si Paquito Diaz.

Of Diego, he is on the comeback trail, kumbaga. Naging leading man na siya to both Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes, now both big names in the industry, in the series Mara Clara. At itinampok din siya sa Growing Up.

Sadly, though, he didn’t create a ripple.

Apparently, sinunod finally ni Diego, at ni Teresa rin, ang payo ni Cesar na magtapos muna ng high school ang kanilang anak, while at the same time he is preparing himself for an acting job.

Ngayon, Diego admits, he seems more prepared nga for an acting profession. Although susundin pa rin niya ang payo ng ama na ipagpatuloy nga niya ang pag-aaral sa college.

Kay Julia naman, ang maging busy siya with her showbiz career ang payo sa anak ni Dennis Padilla. To which daw Julia promised him she will.

Bago nag-go full time sa kanyang showbiz career si Dennis, tinapos muna niya ang kanyang pag-aaral ng communication arts sa University of Sto. Tomas. Kabilang si Dennis sa nag-create ng story at script ng Raketeros which Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, together with siblings Hero and Harlene Bautista, produced for their own film firm Hea­ven’s Best. Dennis stars in Raketeros, too with Mayor Herbert, Ogie Alcasid, at Andrew E. Raketeros, which Star Cinema will reportedly release, marks the directorial debut ni Randy Santiago.
