Nabuking na ang dahilan: Toni ayaw magpakasal dahil kay Piolo!

Hoy Salve A., may kinalaman nga ba si Piolo Pascual kung bakit kahit five years na ang relasyon ni Toni Gonzaga kay Direk Paul Soriano ay waring reluctant pang magpakasal ang aktres?

Aba, 29 years old na rin si Toni.

Well, ito raw ang dahilan. Promise raw ni Toni sa sarili na kailangan bago siya mag-asawa, magkasama muna sila ni Piolo sa isang project. Preferably a movie.

And guess why? Bale kasi si Piolo ang kauna-unahang aktor na nakasama niya sa isang commercial for a softdrink. Hindi pa gaanong sikat noon si Piolo. Si Toni naman paekstra-ekstra pa lamang sa mga commercial noong panahong ‘yun.

Kaso nga raw, hindi satisfied ang director ng akting ng supposed bidang babae. At noon nga napansin ng director ang “agaw pansin” na si Toni.

Tinanong si Toni ng director kung kaya niyang gawin ang ipinagagawa niya sa supposed bidang babae.

Kaagad umoo raw si Toni. And to the director’s sa­tisfaction, na-take one lang si Toni.

In any case, that wasn’t what served kumbaga her passport to what she has become now. Runner-up siya sa isang singing reality show. Binigyan siya ng GMA 7 na lumabas-labas sa shows nila. Si Mr. Tony Tuviera naman got her bilang isa sa mga baguhan at young host ng Eat Bulaga.

Magmo-more than five years na rin ngayon si Toni as a Kapamilya star. At bilang isa sa pinakaprominenteng leading lady ng Star Cinema, she has had the chance na makapareha ang ilan sa kilalang lea­ding men ng movie firm. Kabilang na sina John Lloyd Cruz, Vhong Navarro, at Sam Milby.

But never pa nga si Piolo.

Well, ayon sa aming source, nabanggit daw ni Pinty, mommy ni Toni, na may movie nang itinakda ang Star Cinema para kay Toni with Piolo bilang kapareha niya.

Meantime, baka ’di pa ninyo napapanood ang movie ng Multi-Media Queen na kasalukuyang showing in more than 100 theaters nationwide.

Ang Four Sisters and a Wedding, the first among several productions na pang-anniversary offering ng Star Cinema, also stars Bea Alonzo, Shaina Magdayao, Enchong Dee, at Angel Locsin.

Mr. and Ms. Chinatown candidates galing sa magagaling na eskuwelahan

Mark the date: June 30, a Sunday. It will be the coronation night of the first Mr. and Ms. Chinatown to be held at the Resorts World Manila.

Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, and Enchong Dee will host the show. Thirty Filipino-Chinese candidates, aged 18 to 25, are competing for the title. And these candidates are a strong mixture of contemporary men and women who are either students or graduates of prestigious universities and colleges in Metro Manila such as the Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas, and the University of Asia and the Pacific.

The female candidates are Jerene Tan, Robylyn Kimberly Tan, Michelle Marie Sy, Rolini Lim Pineda, Jamie Chua Reyes, Lhowelle Lyka Tan, Sheryl Elaine Chua, Samantha Jade Dy, Maricon Cho, Hannah Dy, Fraces Elaine Chan, Kimberly Nicole Ang Mae, Aeryka Chua, Catrina Myka de Guzman Ang, Catherine Yao, and Anna Patricia Baesa Tan.

The males are Oliver Chen, Glenn Kevin Choa, Sydney Du, Glenn Andrew Magante, Josse Miguel Lasala, Alvis Lim, Jaime Ripoli, Randy Sy, Bruce Willis Wo Sing, John Christopher Sy, Arthur Emmanuel Tan, Frederick Jan Bee Tan, Jerome Edward Tan, Sheng-han Yeng, Francis Kevin Yao, at John Patrick Yap.
