I apologize to our Kapuso friends in Albay for I won’t be able to make it to the event tonight. My 3:20 pm flight via Airphil was cancelled... due to what they call a ‘bird strike.’
“GMA Network has exhausted all possible means for me to travel, but no other safe options were found. I feel bad that I won’t be able to see you guys pero rest assured, we will plan another visit soon. Be safe and well mga Kapuso.â€
“Nothing can ever describe the feeling of helplessness I felt at the time. As I panicked, our ever faithful driver/tatay Mode had the presence of mind to get us to the nearest ER from where we were instead, which was the little hospital called Capitol Medical Center on Quezon Avenue.
“Angels must’ve been guiding us because as soon as we got there, the ER consultant Dr. Clifford Bareng knew exactly what to do, without batting an eyelash he performed all the emergency procedures needed to help Lexi get oxygen into her lungs and brain again and in a nutshell, saved our Lexi’s life.
“We will never forget you and the rest of your ER team! A few minutes later, our Pedia IntensiÂvist Dr. Herbert Uy arrived and checked on her. All procedures were done perfectly and he proceeded to further examine and monitor her vital signs. He found that she had come to and was fighting off the endotracheal tube that was earlier inserted to help her breathe.
“Dr. Uy didn’t leave us til sunrise despite the fact that he wasn’t even on duty and had the weekend off. We are forever grateful!
“To all my dear dear friends who prayed and came at the drop of a hat, thank you! I love you! To my Mom and sisters Kate and Helena who are always there through thick and thin, to my dear friend Aye Nuguid who picked up ALL my panic filled calls and guided me through at one in the morning!
“To all who texted or said a prayer for my baby, to all her amazing wonderful friends who have visited, called, prayed, cheered her on...she is blessed to have you guys! To Paolo Garciano who stayed bravely by her side, you’re ok by me! Last but mostly, to my Heavenly Father, my best friend, my healer, my ALL...thank you for sending your angels to surround, protect and heal our baby girl. You are truly faithful and I LOVE YOU!!!!â€
