Well, ako na mismo. Si Zanjoe,’’ ang nakatawang sagot ng aktor.

Walang dudang ‘‘kinagat’’ ng manonood ang portrayal ni Zanjoe of a dual character, one bakla and the other a macho, sa Bromance. As he said, ‘‘Posibleng ang first bulk nang nanood ng pelikula were curious, at first, na tingnan if he did justice to his two roles.

“And word of mouth soon convinced others to watch the movie, too.”

Zanjoe admits, he had no idea the movie will click. When Skylight Films offered him the project, he accepted it simply because he considered it work.

Malaking come on din na ang direktor ng Bromance ay si Wenn Deramas, kilalang blockbuster director. And Cristine Reyes, as his leading lady, well, welcome na welcome niya ang pagkakataong makatrabaho itong muli like they once did in a series together, ang Kristine.

He confessed it was his first time to work with the comedians such as Lassy, Atak, and Joey Paras, among others and it proved a funny and lovable experience.

‘‘I would not think twice working with them again,’’ pahayag pa ni Zanjoe.

Zanjoe, as we all know, joined showbiz via the reality show, Pinoy Big Brother (PBB). Prior to his entry in the field, so to speak, he was a commercial and ramp model.

Bilang commercial model, he didn’t mind na rumampa in his sexiest. Obvious na Zanjoe knows he has a sexy physique and didn’t mind displaying it.

Even when he turned movie star, Zanjoe, without much prodding, didn’t mind ‘‘dropping’’ his pants to display his butt, both on stage and in the small and big screen.

Zanjoe believes, though, that his comic talent was enhanced when he was cast in Banana Split Extra Scoop.

“Kaya I will forever feel grateful to Direk Bobot (referring to former actor Edgar Mortiz who conceptualized and now directs Banana Split and Banana Nite). Siya ang nakaisip na isama ako sa Banana Split which formerly had an all-female cast.

‘‘Ngayon, siyempre, marami na kaming lalaki sa gag show,’’ tukoy ni Zanjoe.

Sa recent presscon for him attended mostly by ‘‘bloggers,’’ Zanjoe was asked how he feels na ’di siya nakasama ni Sam Milby, who attended the still ongoing Cannes International Film Festival in France where their movie Death March ay pinapanood sa Director’s Fortnight.

Nanghihinayang daw siya, sagot ni Zanjoe. Kaso, busy nga raw siya currently doing the soap Annaliza, topbilled by child actress Andrea Brillantes, which will start airing na on Monday (May 27) before TV Patrol. Besides, nagte-taping din siya for Banana Split and Banana Nite, which, like Annaliza, is also aired daily (except Sundays).
