MANILA, Philippines —  Maganda ang future ng Gilas Pilipinas dahil sa mahuhusay na batang players nito na siyang magbibitbit ng bandila ng Pilipinas sa mga susunod na international tournaments.

Mismong si Kai Sotto ang humanga sa mga kapwa players nito sa Gilas Pilipinas core matapos ang dalawang sunod na panalo ng kanilang tropa sa FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers second round.

Naglaro ang Gilas Pilipinas na wala si naturalized player Justin Brownlee.

Ngunit nagawang pataubin ng Pinoy cagers ang Asian powers na Iran at Jordan para makumpleto ang matamis na sweep sa home games ng Gilas.

Isa si Sotto sa tunay na naasahan ng Gilas Pilipinas.

Ngunit hindi nito kinalimutan ang kontribusyon ng bawat isa kabilang na ang mga kapwa batang Gilas players nito gaya nina Carl Tamayo, Dwight Ramos, AJ Edu, Kevin Quiambao at Juan Gomez de Liaño.

“These are young guys who have a really bright future for the national team. And I think this window was a good, a big challenge for us without Justin,” ani Sotto.

Sinabi ni Sotto na mas tumataas ang kumpiyansa nito sa tulong ng kanyang mga teammates.

“I’m just very blessed to be part of this team and to have this young core that we have, it gives me confidence pagdating sa future,” ani Sotto.

Kaya naman asahan na muling masisilayan si Sotto suot ang Gilas Pilipinas jersey sa mga susunod na laban ng national team.
