All set for Mamba Day Invitational
CEBU, Philippines — It’s all systems for the Mamba Day Invitational, a 5x5 basketball tournament set on Sunday, August 30, at the Aulga Citi Sports in Barangay Lawaan II, Talisay City.
Action starts at 2 p.m.
The one-day tilt is organized by Professional Youth Basketball Fellowship Basketball Advocacy (PYFBA), a Talisay-based grassroots sports program and youth development organization that combines basketball training with youth empowerment.
PYFBA founder and program director Deej Villanueva said there will be 30 players in the pool of participants.
They will be divided into five teams of six players each that will be determined via draft.
The designated captains will pick five players in the draft to form part of their teams.
The competition follows a single round robin format, with 12-minute running time per game.
The top two teams will advance to the finals.
Entry fee is P500 per player inclusive of Mamba Day shorts. – EBV
