Foxies trip Chameleons

MANILA, Philippines — It takes one to know one.

And champion coach Koji Tsuzurabara knows the Farm Fresh Foxies would need to have concerted effort and be consistent in doing it for them to win a PVL title someday.

And on this fine Saturday in Tubod, Lanao del Norte, Farm Fresh did just that to the liking of its Japanese mentor.

“Everyone had a good performance,” said Tsuzurabara yesterday moments after his wards downed the Nxled Chameleons, 25-23, 25-13, 25-22, in the PVL on Tour at the Mindanao Civic Center Gymnasium.

Battle-tested Ces Molina and energetic Trisha Tubu took turns and each finished with 16 points while Honey Royse Tubino scattered 12 hits.

Louie Romero did well in filling the gaping hole left by the absence of Alohi Robins-Hardy and dished out 14 excellent sets.

She too preached Tsuzurabara’s teachings.

“It was a total team effort and it is only now that we’re starting to jell,” said Romero.

It was the first win for the club this conference, more than a month after receiving a four-set spanking from Galeries Tower in Batangas City.

Tsuzurabara was brought in for one thing alone – inject a winning culture.
