Poro Point exec goes missing in La Union

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Philippines — Police have launched a search for Poro Point Management Corp. (PPMC) director Nicky Oller, who went missing after leaving his home for a morning walk in Tubao town on Friday.
According to his wife, Melanie, the 59-year-old executive left their residence in Barangay Poblacion at 5:30 a.m. for his usual morning walk, and has since failed to return home.
The PPMC is a government-owned and controlled corporation that serves as the operating arm of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority in managing the Poro Point Special Economic and Freeport Zone.
Tubao police investigators said they received the report through the 911 Emergency Hotline at 8:37 a.m. on Friday.
The alarm prompted them to immediately conduct verification and launch search operations within the town.
Police said they are reviewing closed-circuit television footage along the possible routes taken by Oller.
He was last seen wearing a green-and-black hooded jacket, jogging pants and white shoes.
Oller served as a councilor of Tubao municipality from 2001 to 2010 and from 2013-2019.
He was appointed as PPMC director in 2021 and elected as chairman of the board on Oct. 13, 2025.
