Matibag huling testigo ng prosecution sa ‘assassination threat’

MANILA, Philippines — Si National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag ang huling testigo ng prosecution panel kaugnay ng grave threats laban sa buhay ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa Senate impeachment court kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

Ito ang inihayag ni lead prosecutor Batangas Rep. Gerville Bitrics Luistro at inimpormahan ang Senate impeachment court na wini-withdraw na ng prosecution panel ang pagtestigo ng anim pang mga witness.

Kabilang dito ay isang kinatawan ng PNP Firearms and Explosives Office, mga reporter na sina Mikhail Flores ng FOCAP; Bons Magsambol, Sheriff Abe Andres, miyembro ng pamilya ng isa sa mga binantaan, at isang psychiatrist.

Una nang inianunsyo nitong Martes ng gabi na inalis na sa listahan ng mga testigo sina Atty. Zuleika Lopez, dating Chief of Staff ni VP Duterte at House Legislative Security Bureau Executive Director Captain Belinda Bello.

Ang ikaapat na Article of Impeachment ay nag-aakusa kay VP Duterte ng paglabag sa Konstitusyon, betrayal of public thrust at high crimes sa ‘assassination threat’ nito sa kaniyang online press briefing noong Nobyembre 23, 2024 laban kina PBBM, First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, at  dating Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Una nang iprinisinta ng prosecution panel sina NBI Senior agent John Mark Calilung at NBI-BARMM Director Jeremy Lotoc.

Si Calilung ang nag-authenticate sa video recordings ni VP Duterte habang si Lotoc naman ang nag-imbestiga at nag-analisa sa ‘assassination threat.
