Lakers iniwan ni James
LOS ANGELES — Opisyal nang nagpaalam kahapon si LeBron James sa Lakers matapos ang walong taon na paglalaro para maghanap ng malilipatang koponan.
“It was truly a honor to wear ‘the Lakers’ uniform and that, I hope I made a few proud during my stint,” sabi ng 41-anyos na si James sa kanyang social media post.
Ito rin ang kinumpirma ni Lakers governor Jeanie Buss sa isang statement.
“LeBron James is one of the greatest athletes in history. We will always be thankful for his eight years with the Lakers including the title he led us to in 2020 under the toughest imaginable circumstances and the countless records he broke in purple and gold,” ani Buss sa 41-anyos na si James na sasalang sa kanyang NBA record na ika-24 season.
Kabilang sa mga nagpahayag ng interes sa four-time NBA champion guard ay ang Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat at Cleveland Cavaliers na tinulungan niyang magkampeon noong 2016.
Bukod kay ‘King James’ ay hinahabol din ng Warriors si center Anthony Davis na ayaw pakawalan ng Washington Wizards.
Binanderahan naman ni James ang Heat ni Fil-Am coach Erik Spoelstra sa dalawang NBA championship noong 2012 at 2013 kasama sina Dwayne Wade at Chris Bosh.
Samantala, pumayag ang LA Clippers na ibigay si All-NBA forward Kawhi Leonard sa Toronto Raptors kapalit nina Brandon Ingram at Gradey Dick bukod sa unprotected first-round picks sa 2031 at 2033, isang 2027 first-round pick swap at dalawang second-round picks.
