NEW YORK — Baga­ma’t nakaisa sa Knicks, hindi pa ito oras para magdiwang ang San Antonio Spurs.

“I didn’t want us to get too happy about one win and get satisfied and take our foot off the gas a little bit for the next game,” sabi ni San Antonio guard Stephon Castle na umiskor ng 23 points sa kanilang 115-111 panalo sa New York sa Game Three ng NBA Finals.

“But I think since the end of Game 2 we’ve still been confident that we’re going to win this series, and that’s what we plan to do,” dagdag nito sa kanilang upakan ngayon sa Game Four.

Tinapos ng Spurs ang 13-game postseason winning streak ng Knicks para makadikit sa 1-2 sa kanilang best-of-seven championship series.

Humakot si Victor Wem­­banyama ng 32 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists at 3 blocks para sa pagbangon ng San Antonio mula sa 0-2 pagkakalubog sa New York sa serye.

Bukod kay NBA legend Tim Duncan, ang 22-anyos na French center ang na­ging ikalawang Spurs pla­yer na umiskor ng higit sa 25 points sa tatlong sunod na NBA Finals games.

Naging susi rin nila ang pinagsamang 28 assists nina Castle, De’Aaron Fox at Fil-American rookie guard Dylan Harper.

Kumpiyansa naman ang Knicks na maitatala nila ang malaking 3-1 lead para makalapit sa ikatlong NBA championship na huli nilang napanalunan noong 1973.
