Sina Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) president Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, Pangulong Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos Jr., Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino at Philippine Sports Commission chairman Patrick “Pato” Gregorio nang magpulong sa Seventh Cebu para sa Asian Beach Games (ABG) sa 2028 sa isina­gawang courtesy call sa Malacañang.

MANILA, Philippines — Nakipagpulong si Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) president Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani kay pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa Malacañang para masiguro ang matagumpay na pagdaraos ng Asian Beach Games (ABG) sa 2028 sa Cebu.

Maliban sa hosting, sinabi ni Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino na napag-usapan din ang pagpapalakas ng sports cooperation upang mas lalong lumalim ang programa sa bansa.

“Sheik Al Thani discussed with the President [Marcos] the importance of sports cooperation on top of the support on the hosting  of the ABG in 2028,” ani Tolentino.

Kasama ni Tolentino sa meeting si Philippine Sports Commission chairman Patrick Gregorio.

Pormal nang ibinigay sa Pilipinas ang hosting rights ng Asian Beach Games sa ginanap na seremonya noong nakaraang linggo sa Sanya, China.

Pinamunuan ito ni Sheik Al Thani kasama sina Tolentino at Gregorio.

Idaraos ang ikapitong edisyon ng Asian Beach Games sa Marso 7 hanggang 16 sa 2028

“Sheik Al Thani also discussed with the President how to strengthen cooperation in sports development, including athlete training, institutional collaboration and opportunities for the Philippines to host future regional and international competitions,” ani Tolentino.

Si Sheik Al Thani ay pangulo rin ng Qatar national Olympic committee.
