Manalo bagong pangulo ng ABAP

MANILA, Philippines — Nahalal bilang bagong pangulo ng Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP) si Marcus Jarwin Manalo bilang kapalit ng ngayon ay chairman na si ex-Antipolo congressman Robbie Puno.

Dating secretary-ge­neral si Manalo sa ilalim ng pamumuno nina dating presidente Ed Picson, Puno at Ricky Vargas na uupo na ngayon bilang honorary chairman ng pederasyon matapos ang annual meeting at eleksyon sa Meralco Building sa Ortigas, Pasig.

Malaki ang inaasahan kay Manalo na siyang namuno sa boxing team ng Pinas noong 2021 Tokyo Olympics na nagresulta sa tatlong medalya tampok sina Nesthy Petecio at Carlo Paalam na may silver at Eumir Marcial na may bronze medal.

“I am deeply honored and humbled by the trust the Board has given me,” ani Manalo na dating performance coach at professor sa UP Diliman hanggang umangat bilang official at ngayon ay ABAP president.

Tubong Bauan, Batangas si Manalo na nag-aral ng sports psychology sa UP Diliman at Texas Tech University sa Amerika kaya malaki ang tiwala sa kanya ni ABAP honorary chairman Vargas.
