Norwood magreretiro na sa PBA
MANILA, Philippines — Matapos ang 17 taon ay tuluyan nang isasabit ni Gabe Norwood ang kanyang basketball jersey.
Sa isang video sa social media ay inihayag ng 40-anyos na Rain or Shine veteran forward ang kanyang pagreretiro sa PBA.
Ayon sa 2008 top overall draft pick at 2009 Rookie of the Year, tatapusin lamang niya ang kasalukuyang PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup.
“The journey has been nothing short of incredible, I poured everything I have everything into this game and in return, it has given me more than I could ever ask for,” ani Norwood, ang 2010 PBA Defensive Player of the Year at MVP sa PBA All-Star Game.
“That’s why today, I wanna share with you all, that this upcoming Philippine Cup will be my last. One last conference, one last run, one last flight,” dagdag ng produkto ng US NCAA Division 1 team George Mason University.
Umaakto nang assistant si Norwood kay Elasto Painters coach Yeng Guiao simula noong nakaraang PBA Season 49.
Nagsilbi rin si Norwood sa Gilas Pilipinas sa FIBA Asia Championship, SEA Games at William Jones Cup.
