Suzara bagong AVC president
MANILA, Philippines — Hinirang si Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Ramon “Tats” Suzara bilang bagong pangulo ng Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC).
Si Suzara ang ikalawang Pinoy na nailuklok sa nasabing posisyon matapos si Nemesio Yabut, Sr.
Nakakuha ang PNVF chief ng 48 sa 63 votes, kasama ang 20 proxy votes, para talunin si Qatar Volleyball Association head Ali Ghanim Al Kuwari.
Si Suzara ang papalit kay Rita Sibowo ng Indonesia na pinamunuan ang AVC noong 2020 hanggang 2024 para sa Olympic cycle.
“I see the opportunity and the momentum to take the AVC towards the next era. The greatest boost shall be derived from the region’s grand tradition and rich history in volleyball,” wika ni Suzara.
“The legacy of inspiring wisdom and nurturing leadership of previous administrations will be carried on, even as the AVC story continues to unfold,” dagdag pa nito.
Sa kanyang pamamahala sa PNVF ay nakamit ng Alas Pilipinas Men at Women ang kauna-unahang podium finishes sa 2024 Southeast Asian Volleyball League.
Matagumpay din ang pamamahala ng PNVF sa nakaraang Manila Leg ng Volleyball Nations League tampok ang paglalaro ng mga top volleyball nations sa buong mundo.
