Quezon City District 1 Warriors PH sinikwat ang CLS Cup title

MANILA, Philippines — Inangkin ng District Warriors Philippines ng Quezon City First District ang korona ng Mutant 2024 Cahaya Lestari Surabaya (CLS) Cup International Invitational League Under-23 Senior Basketball Boys Division sa Indonesia.

Ito ay matapos gibain ng District Warriors, suportado ni Quezon City 1st District Rep. Juan Carlos “Arjo” Atayde, ang ACBA Tigers Sydney (ATS), 75-71, sa championship game.

“I salute this team for showing the world how Filipinos respond to pressure and adversity,” ani Atayde. “Hindi sila bumigay, hindi sila bumitaw––iyan ang pusong Pinoy.”

Bukod sa basketball, sinusuportahan din ni Atayde, isang sports aficionado, ang fencing, football at volleyball.

Pinuri ni Atayde, mi­yem­bro ng Youth and Sports Development Committee sa House of Representatives, ang mga pla­yers at coaches para pamunuan ang single-round robin weeklong tournament sa pagtatala ng 5-1 win-loss record.

Umiskor si Custodio Lastra Jr. ng 13 points habang may 11 at tig-10 markers sina Christopher Ang, Christian Jake A­goncillo, Warren Calara at Jermiah Guzman.

Ang iba pang miyembro ng tropa ay sina Ryan Arceo, Danren Nepomuceno, Joeben Loria, Patrick Buena at Andrei Diaz kasama si team coordinator Carl Lorenz Eserjose.
