MANILA, Philippines —  Kagaya ng kanilang mga ate, bronze medal din ang inangkin ng Alas Pilipinas girls volleyball team sa 22nd Princess Cup SEA U18 Championship matapos gibain ang Australia, 25-13, 25-21, 25-20, sa Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.

Nauna nang minalas ang Alas Girls na ma­ka­pagbulsa ng championship berth matapos matalo sa Indonesia via straight sets.

Sumandal ang national under-18 team ni Japanese coach Taka Minowa kina team captain Harlyn Serneche at Denesse Daylisan ng National University Nazareth School at Ashley Macalinao ng Kings’ Montessori para muling talunin ang mga Aussies sa ikalawa nilang paghaharap sa regional tournament.

Ang makasaysayang bronze medal din ang hinablot ng Alas Pilipinas national women’s squad ni Brazilian mentor Jorge Souza De Brito sa nakaraang 2024 AVC Challenge Cup for Women.

Ang iba pang bumubuo sa Alas Girls team ay sina NU-Nazareth School stalwarts Bubay Belen at Akeyla Bartolabac, University of Santo Tomas upstarts Chas Pepito, Avril Bron, Kimberly Rubin, Jaila Adrao, Maile Salang, A­neeza Santos at Lianne Penuliar at Gillian Marzan ng De La Salle-Zobel.

Sunod na sasabak ang tropa sa 15th Asian Wo­men’s U18 Championship sa Hunyo 16 hanggang 23 sa Thailand.
