BANGKOK, Thailand - Nagparamdam ng lakas si Mikhael Jasper ‘Mikee’ Mojdeh matapos kubrahin ang unang medalya ng Team Philippines sa 2024 Asian Open School Invi­ta­tional (AOSI) Aquatics Championships Bangkok na gina­ganap sa Assumption Uni­versity Aquatic Center (ABAC) sa Suvarnabhumi Campus dito.

Hindi nasindak si Moj­deh sa kanyang mga be­teranong karibal nang masiguro ang tanso sa boys’ 8-year 50-meter breaststroke sa isinumiteng 51.05 segundo.

Ito ang unang internatio­nal tournament ni Mojdeh kaya’t hindi maitago ang saya nito na makapagbigay ng karangalan sa bansa sa kanyang murang edad.

“It’s really an honor to re­present our country in an in­ternational tournament. But winning a medal in my first international competition is just overwhelming. I’m so happy that I was able to contribute to the team,” sabi ni Mojdeh.

Si Mojdeh ang bunsong kapatid ni World Junior Championships semifinalist at Philippine national junior record-holder Micaela Jasmine.

Inaasahang magdarag­dag pa ng medalya si Mik­hael Jasper sa kanyang mga susunod na events sa torneong nilahukan ng mahigit 1,000 tankers mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng re­hiyon.

Nagdagdag din ng tansong medalya sina Alister Arnaldo, Francis Luke Ebcas at Edgar Allan Uno Na­raga sa kani-kanilang age brackets.

Pumangatlo si Arnaldo sa boys’ 9-year 50m breaststroke (45.18) gayundin sina Ebcas sa boys’ 16-year 50m breaststroke (30.35) at Naraga sa men’s 18-over 50m breaststroke (30.33).
