Uban sa CRMC Mustangs  Malazarte Adunay misyon sa CESAFI

CEBU, Philippines —  Luyo sa pagtambayong nilang coach Paul Alelu Flores, ang Sugbuanong basketball patron nga si Marc Malazarte nagkupot og mahinungdanong papel uban sa Consolacion Sarok Weavers nga nakadaog og makasaysaynong duha ka sagunson nga kampiyonato sa Pilipinas Super League (PSL) sa miaging tuig.

Nahimo sab siyang importanteng kabahin sa City of Bogo Science and Arts Academy (CBSAA) Trailblazers nga mikulit og kasaysayan human gi-sweep ang siyam ka duwa nila sa eliminasyon dayon na ngadto sa pagtikang sa high school division finals sa 2022 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) season. Karon, si Malazarte nanghinaut nga dad-on ang malampuson niyang ratsada sa CESAFI isip athletic director ug team manager sa Cebu Roosevelt Memorial Colleges (CRMC) Mustangs.

Isip bag-ohanon sa liga, si Malazarte nagkanayon nga ang Mustangs hugtanong nangandam sa giatngan nilang debut sa 23rd CESAFI season nga gikatakdang mosikad karong Septiembre 23 didto sa Cebu Coliseum.   

Og nindot ang gipakita nilang labok sa ilang tune-up games batok sa mga establisadong CESAFI teams sama sa University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers, University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors, ug Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Cobras.

"We've been practicing since February this year," matud pa ni Malazarte. "So I could say that the team has been playing together for some time now and hopefully it was enough for the them to jell."

Kumpara sa ilang nabuhat uban sa Consolacion, si Malazarte mipaambit nga lahi ra kaayo nga tahas pagporma og usa ka amateur team alang sa usa ka tunghaan.

"It is much more challenging from putting up a commercial team like the one we had for the Consolacion Sarok Weavers mainly because there are a lot of bigger schools that players would rather play for. Another factor is our location because we are 2-3 hours away from the city," dason pa ni Malazarte.

"In spite of this, we were able to gather a very dedicated group of young men who has a thing or two to prove. For me, this is a very good thing because this is motivation enough for them," dugang pa niya.

Kasarangan man tuod ang ilang puwersa apan sama sa ubang teams, ang Mustangs dunay mahuyang nga luna nga angay nilang tutokan.

"We don't have a legitimate big man for now," angkon pa ni Malazarte. "But with the system coach Paul Alelu Flores is running, I'm pretty sure we will always give every team a run for their money. As what coach Alelu and I always say, we can't assure a win every game, but we could guarantee that we will come prepared every game."

"Moreover, we have complete trust in our our players and most importantly in our system, which is already a proven one with the championships we got with the Sarok Weavers."

Bisan tuod og dili kaayo taas ang gihandum kanila, si Malazarte madasigon nga ipadayon ang dalaygon nga dagan sa iyang karera, ning higayon uban sa Mustangs sa primerong inter-school nga liga sa Sugbo.

"Thank you to the CRMC community for the support especially to our school president Hon. Victor Elliot Lepiten III, Hon. Jingle Lepiten, and to the entire Lepiten family for this opportunity to play in Cebu’s biggest inter-school league. We are also hoping to continue what the late sir Junie Martinez has started and make the sports program of Bogo City better," panapos pa ni Malazarte.
