CPS ipinagpag ang UVL Hornets

MANILA, Philippines — Mabilis na iniligpit ng California Precision Sports (CPS) ang United Volleyball League (UVL) Muñoz Hornets, 25-7, 25-7, sa girls’ Pool C ng Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Under-18 Cham­pionships kahapon sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Ito ang ikatlong sunod na panalo ng CPS sa torneo.

“They’re not a bad team and we praise them for their bravery and valiant effort for stepping up despite being shorthanded,” ani CPS coach Dr. Obet Estrella Vital. “You cannot underestimate this team—just what they showed against Marikina.”

Ilang players lang ang naglaro para sa Hornets matapos mabangga ang inarkila nilang van sa isang tricycle sa Baliuag, Bulacan papuntang Manila mula sa Science City of Muñoz sa Nueva Ecija kamakalawa.

Dahil dito ay bumigay ang Hornets sa Marikina Titans Volleyball Club, 21-25, 25-20, 25-18, sa kanilang naunang laro.

Laglag sa 0-3 ang baraha ng Hornets sa torneong inorganisa ng PNVF sa pamumuno ni Ramon “Tats” Suzara katuwang ang Philippine Olympic Committee, Philippine Sports Commission, PLDT, Rebisco at Akari.

Samantala, tinalo ng Santo Niño de Praga Aca­demy ng Trece Martires City ang Ateneo de Manila (0-3) ng Quezon City, 25-13, 25-15, sa Pool D.
