PBA player inakusahan ng 'domestic abuse'; PBA mag-iimbestiga
MANILA, Philippines — Hindi raw palalampasin ng PBA ang kahit anong uri ng domestic violence matapos akusahan ng dating UAAP courtside reporter Agatha Uvero ang kanyang dating kasintahan at Blackwater player Paul Desiderio ng pang aabuso sa isang Twitter thread nitong Miyerkules.
Iginiit ng liga na hindi raw nila pahihintulutan ang anumang uri ng pang-aabuso sa mga kababaihan.
“The league will conduct an inquiry and hand down its findings and resolutions as soon as the facts are clearly established” sabi ng PBA sa inilabas na pahayag ilang oras matapos magviral ang social media post ni Uvero.
“This league will not tolerate any form of domestic abuse. No matter the cause or circumstances, physical and psychological abuse of women, whether in the confines of marriage or not, is inexcusable."
Inakusahan ni Uvero ang Bossing guard ng samu’t saring mararahas na gawain tulad ng paghampas ng mukha sa kotse, pagbabato sa kanya sa lamesa at pader, panununtok, at pananakal habang siya ay buntis sa kanilang anak.

“I really didn’t wanna do this but the threats have been difficult and I owe this to myself and to women out there,” sinabi ni Uvero sa caption ng kanyang post.
Nag-alinlangan daw si Uvero na ilabas ang mga akusasyon matapos sabihan ni Desiderio na walang papanig sa kanya.
“I’m done with your gaslighting, Paul. You kept telling me to do this and at the end of the day, no one will side with me. I have proof, pictures, screenshots, if no one will side with me, I’ll accept it but I know the truth," sinabi ng dating courtside reporter.
Naghiwalay ang magkasintahan noong June 3 kung saan sinabi ni Uvero na: “It’s not breakup season, for some it’s loving yourself season.”
Hunyo 2020 lang nang maiulat na umabot sa 4,260 ang kaso ng violence against women and children habang ipinatutupad ang lockdown noong Marso laban sa COVID-19, panahon kung kailan pwersahang nasa iisang bubuong ang mga pamilya.
Dati nang nagkaroon ng mga alegasyon ng pang-aabuso ang ibang mga basketbolista, gaya na lang kay Magnolia Hotshots teammates Jio Jalalon at Calvin Abueva na inireklamo na rin ng kanilang mga partners.
