Kalandrakas sa sports gipangandaman sa CCSC

CEBU, Philippines — Ang Cebu City Sports Commission ubos sa pagpangu sa tsirman niining si John Pages nangandam alang sa pagbuto sa mga kalihukan sa sports karon nga giablihan na ang kalibutan sa paugnat sa kusog nga nahunong sud sa duha ka tuig tungod sa pandemiya.

Mao kini ang usa sa mga mahinungdanong butang nga naghisgutan sa CCSC atol sa una nilang commissioners' meeting niadtong Huybes.

Gawas ni Pages, mitambong sab sila si vice mayor Dondon Hontiveros, konsehal Raymond Garcia ug Jessica Resch, CCSC Vice Chairman Lorenzo "Chao" Sy, commissioners Ed Hayco, Jessica Honoridez, Rolly Diorico, ug Troy Malilong, executive director Amilo Lopez, ug Francis Ramirez nga nagrepresenta ni Dr. Rhea Mar Angtud sa DepEd.

Sa pasiuna niyang mensahe, gipasalamatan ni Pages ang kanhi tsirman nga si Hayco sa paggiya ug pagpalambo niini sa CCSC sud sa 12 ka tuig dayong padayag sa mga oportunidad nga nag-atang kanila sa unahan.

“We are excited with the opportunities that we face with sports today. After two years of the pandemic, Cebu and the world have opened. Sports is open. There are so many organizers eager to restart their tournaments. The athletes are excited to compete. People want to go out and exercise," matud pa ni Pages.

“We have received many calls about events being restarted. We will have the Palaro football (bubble) tournament next month. The Ironman will return this August. There will be an explosion of sporting activities this 2022,” dugang pa ni Pages.

“There is a need to restart sports in Cebu. We hope to see plenty of tournaments, not only in basketball, throughout the city,” batbat pa sa kanhi basketball star nga nahimong pulitiko.

“Because of the limited 2022 budget of the CCSC, we will ask the Commission to submit its proposals for the remainder of the year. We will try to seek additional funding for sports,” pasalig pa ni Garcia.
