Ilang sports complex bubuksan ng PSC para sa COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines  — Para matulungan ang napupuno nang mga ospital ay bubuksan ng Philippine Sports Commission ang ilan nilang sports complex para maging temporary medical facilities sa pagharap sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Ang mga ito, ayon kay PSC chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez, ay ang Rizal Memorial Sports Complex sa Malate, Manila at ang PhilsportsvComplex sa Pasig City.

Ang mga pasilidad sa nasabing dalawang sports complex ay tinitingnan ng Department of Public Works and Highways kung papasa sa requirements ng Department of Health.

Ang pagboluntaryo ng PSC ay bahagi ng inilabas na Executive Order ni President Rodrigo Duterte sa paglaban sa COVID-19.

“They are government facilities so it we were already anticipating that it might come to that point,” wika ni Ramirez na nakausap na si Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

Ang mga venues na ikinukunsiderang gagamitin sa Philsports Complex ay ang Multi-purpose Arena at ang track oval habang sa RMSC ay ang Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Ninoy Aquino Stadium at Rizal Baseball Stadium.

Ang nasabing venues ay nauna nang nagamit bilang evacuation o warehouse at repacking centers para sa relief goods.

Maliban sa halos 30 athletes at coaches, mga medical at admin staff at mga security personnel na nagbabantay sa mga sports complex, pinauwi ng PSC ang mga national athletes sa kanilang mga tahanan bago ipag-utos ang enhanced community quarantine.
