CEBU, Philippines — Ang mga Sugboanon nga sumusulbong bitoon sa University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) magtakus sa ilang abilidad sa dihang ang National University (NU) Bullpups ug ang Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws Team B  mag-abot sa usa ka exhibition game ugmang adlawa didto sa San Agustin, Surigao del Sur.

Gipasiugdahan ni Cebu-based basketball patron Jason Arquisola sa SG-ARQ Builders ang maong kalihukan aron pagdugang og lamas sa selebrasyon sa tinuig nga kapistahan sa San Agustin, ang mahal nilang patron sa ilang lungsod.

Ang idlas nga pointguard nga si Steve Nash Enriquez mosalida sa Bullpups uban sa tulo ka mga miyembro sa Batang Gilas nga sila si Karl Tamayo, Gerry Abadiano ug Terrence Fortea.

Ubos ang Bullpups sa pagtimon ni Goldwyn Monterverde nga assistant coach sab sa Philippine team sa 2019 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup. 

Moabag ni Monteverde mao ang Sugboanong si Marvin Caro, ang assistant coach sab sa Zamboanga Valientes sa Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

Si Enriquez nga kanhi miduwa sa University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers ug ang iyang mga kauban makigharong batok sa mga katagilungsod niyang Sugboanon nga sila si Travis Mantua, Rendell Senining ug James Tempra nga anaa sa habig sa Tamaraws.

Si Mantua nakadaog og duha ka titulo sa Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles, si Senining kanhi nagsul-ot sa uniporme sa University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars, samtang si Tempra usa ka All-Star forward gikan sa Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons.

Ang Sugboanong coach nga si Ryan Betia maoy modala sa Tamaraws.

Sa dili pa ang duwa, ang Bullpups ug ang Tamaraws mopahigayon og libreng basketball clinic nga kabahin sa grassroots sports development program sa San Agustin.

"Aside from providing entertainment to our constituents, it is also one way of encouraging our youth to get into sports, dream big, and hopefully earn athletic scholarship through basketball one day," matud pa ni San Agustin Mayor Libertad Osorio Alameda.

"Because of our limited resources, we seldom have that kind of activitiy in our province and this is indeed a great opportunity for the young ones in our place to have that kind of exposure and basketball training.
