Japanese duo inangkin ang gold sa beach volley

MANILA, Philippines —  Tuluyan nang kinopo nina Ayumi Kusano at Takemi Nishibori ng Japan ang gold medal matapos talunin sina Paula Soria at Maria Belen Carro, 21-14, 21-18, ng Spain sa FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Manila Open kahapon sa Sands SM By The Bay.

Matapos malampasan ng dalawang Spaniards ang tatlong match points, humataw naman ng kill si Nishibori para kumpletuhin ang 6-0 sa torneong inorganisa ng Beach Volleyball Republic.

“So happy. Perfect,” sambit ni Kusano, kasama si Nishibori ay ibinulsa ang premyong $1,000.

Ibinulsa naman nina Erika Bobadilla at Michelle Amarilla ng Paraguay ang  bronze medal nang daigin sina Tanaka Shinako at Fujii Sakurako ng Japan, 21-17, 21-16.

Ito ang unang medalya ng Paraguay sa FIVB World Tour.

Sa men’s division, itinakda nina Peter Bakhnar at Taras Myskiv ng Russia ang kanilang gold medal showdown kina Max-Jonas Karpa at Milan Sievers ng Germany matapos magtala ng panalo sa semifinals.

Iginupo nina Bakhnar at Myskiv ang magkapatid na Alejandro at Javier Huerta ng Spain, 21-18, 17-21, 20-18, habang dinaig nina Karpa at Sievers sina Michiel Zandbergen at Gabriel Kisling ng Switzerland, 21-17, 21-16.
