Tabamo, Acierto target ang gold medal sa Japan Age-Group
TOKYO -- Dalawang Pinoy tankers ang magtatangkang humirit ng kauna-unahang gintong medalya ng Philippine Swimming League (PSL) sa paglarga ng 2018 Japan Age-Group Swimming Championship ngayon sa St. Mary’s International School swimming pool dito.
Hahataw kaagad sina 2018 Palarong Pambansa-bound Triza Tabamo ng Tarlac City sa girls’ 9-10 50m freestyle at Kiara Acierto ng Cagayan De Oro City sa girls’ 8-under 25m freestyle.
Babandera naman sina Aishel Cid Evangelista (boys’ 8-under 25m freestyle), Master Charles Janda (boys’ 9-10 50m freestyle), Trump Christian Luistro (boys’ 9-10 50m freestyle) at Nicholas Ivan Radovan (boys’ 11-12 50m freestyle).
Babanat rin sina reigning PSL Swimmers of the Year Marc Bryan Dula ng Wisenheimer Academy at Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh ng Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Parañaque at gayundin sina Richelle Anne Callera at Julia Ysabelle Basa sa torneong lalahukan ng mahigit 600 tankers mula sa iba’t ibang bansa.
Masisilayan si Dula sa boys’ 11-12 50m backstroke, habang lalangoy sina Mojdeh sa girls’ 11-12 100m breaststroke, Callera sa girls’ 8-under 25m freestyle at Basa sa girls’ 9-10 50m freestyle.
“The kids are in high morale. We had our training at Toshima Minami Nagasaki Sports Park to let them feel how it’s like to swim on a winter season. Some of them are not used to this kind of weather but the spirit to win medals is there. We’re all set and ready to compete,” ani PSL President Susan Papa.
Nagpasalamat rin si Papa sa Filipino community sa sa pamumuno nina Myles Briones Beltran, Katsumata Hiroshi, Arnel Punzalan, Lovely Ishii at Sachiko Inose sa pagtulong sa buong PSL delegation.
