“Maganda ang resulta namin ngayon dahil last time na nag-Vietnam Open kami we only have one silver and four bronzes. But now, first day pa lang ng campaign, may gold medal na kami kaya mas maganda ang laban namin ngayon,” wika ni Philippine Karatedo Federation secretary general Raymund Lee Reyes.

Magtatangka pang humirit ng medalya para sa Pilipinas sina Villegas (61 kgs. kumite junior), Kawaen (55 kgs. kumite junior), Cuadra (59 kgs. kumite junior), Rexor Romanquin (men’s kumite 67 kgs.), Bryan Fontillas (men’s kumite 84 kgs.), Mae Soriano (women’s kumite 55 kgs.), Kristina Charisse Santiago (women’s kumite 50 kgs.), Randy Stefano Padua Jr. (male 76 kgs. junior), Marie Angelique Aguilar (female 53 kgs. juniors) at sina John Enrico Vasquez, Andrei Mel Dela Cruz at Andrei Carl Dela Cruz na sasalang sa cadet.
