France rider babalik sa Pinas para idepensa ang Le Tour title

MANILA, Philippines – Babalik sa bansa si Thomas Lebas ng France upang ipagtanggol ang kanyang titulo sa Le Tour de Filipinas na lalarga sa Pebrero 18 sa Antipolo City.

Pangungunahan ni Le­bas ang kampanya ng Bridgestone Anchor Cycling Team ng Japan kasama sina Damien Monier, Sho Hatsuyama, Kohei Uchima at Ryu Suzuki sa ikapitong edisyon ng torneong may basbas ng International Cycling Union.

May kabuuang 15 koponan ang magbabakbakan sa taong ito tampok ang tatlong grupo mula sa Pilipinas.

Babanderahan nina Ronald Oranza, John Mark Camingao, George Oco­ner, Ronald Lomotos at Jay Lampawog ang ratsada ng Philippine National Team.

Maliban sa national team, bibitbitin din ng 7-Ele­ven Road Bike Phi­lippines at Kopiko Cube Cycling Team ang bandila ng Pilipinas.

Ang iba pang koponan ay ang Team Ukyo (Japan), Global Cycling Team (Holland), Attaque Team Gusto (Taiwan), Black Inc. Cycling Team (Laos), Team Novo Nordisk (United States), Terangganu Cycling Team (Malaysia), LX IIBS (South Korea), Korail Cycling Continental Team (South Korea), Minsk Cycling Team (Belarus), Skydive Dubai Pro Cycling Team (UAE) at Team Sauerland P/B Henley & Partners (Germany).

“The clamour of foreign teams to race in the country has grown each year that we have to turn down many of them. And this time, we decided to bring world-class road cycling to the fans and enthusiasts to south of Luzon,” pahayag ni Ube Media Inc. chief Donna May Lina.

Tatahakin sa Stage 1 ang 153-kilometrong karera mula Antipolo City hanggang Lucena City sa Quezon kasunod ang paglarga ng Stage 2 mula Lucena City hanggang Daet, Camarines Norte.

Aarangkada naman ang Stage 3 sa Daet patungong Legazpi City sa Albay habang lilibot ang mga siklista sa pamosong Mayon Volcano para sa Stage 4.
