27 PSL tankers pasok sa Taiwan Summer Games

MANILA, Philippines – Nasa 27 na ang mga man­lalangoy na makaka­sama sa 2017 Summer World University Games sa New Taipei City sa Taiwan na ipadadala ng Philippine Swimming League (PSL).

Mangunguna rito ang anim na manlalangoy mula UP na sina Drew Benett Magbag, John Gabriel Cuachin, Juneau Villanueva,Gian Daniel Berino, Lans Rawlin Donato at Asa Mahiwo.

Nakasali sila matapos maabot ang qualifying  mark sa 83rd PSL National Series sa Diliman College Swimming Pool.

Kasama na rin sina New Era University’s Lysa Nika Clamor, Rhoda Darnayla, Rollen Joy Darnayla, Winona Fajardo, Olga Ortiz, Prince Bareng, Carl Bernardo, Benedict Dumlao, Leo Mark Jagto, Ross Jay Labasan at  Vince Mateo, Trixie Cabangon ng Pampanga Aqua Racers, Miguel Cancio ng Angelicum Swim Club, Nathan Anthony Reyes Cheng  at Azrielle Frances Ramos ng Baguio Penguins Swim Club, Lindsay Homilda at Katherine Rodriguez ng  St. Scholastica’s College-Manila at  Anthony Tabuzo at Jazmine Mirasol ng Aquaspeed Sailfish.

“We want these young swimmers experience a once in a lifetime opportunity in the Summer World University Games. It’s an Olympic-style competition with more than 180 countries participating. They’ll be able to swim with some of the world’s best tan­kers,” wika ni PSL President Susan Papa.

Samantala, sina Donato at Joy Rodgers ng UP ang kumuha sa President’s Trophies matapos makalikom ng pinakamataas na International Swimming Federation (FINA) puntos sa kanilang mga dibisyon.

Nakakuha ng 557 pun­tos si Donato tampok ang panalo sa boys’ 100m butterfly (58.89) habang si Rodgers ay may 539 kasama ang ginto sa girls’ 50m breaststroke (35.38).

Ang kanilang pabuya ay tig-P1,500.
