Popus babandera sa PSL National Series swimfest

MANILA, Philippines - Maghahanap uli ng bagong talento ang Philippine Swimming League (PSL) sa paglarga ng 80th PSL National Series-Vice Mayor Isko Moreno Top 16  Long Course Swimming meet ngayong umaga sa Rizal Memorial Swimming Pool sa Vito Cruz, Manila.

Ang torneong ito ay ginawa matapos ang ma­ta­gumpay na kampan­ya ng PSL delegation sa 2015 Singapore Invitational Swimming Championship sa kinuhang 36 ginto, 50 pilak at 31 tansong medalya.

Dahil dito ay kinilala uli ang Pilipinas bilang overall champion sa nasabing meet.

“PSL is very much occupied with our developmen­tal process. We are expo­sing swimmers not only in our monthly competition but also in international level. We want these kids to experience competing against their foreign counterparts to further hone their skills,” wika ni PSL president Susan Papa.

Nangunguna sa mga magtatangkang makasikwat ng puwesto sa World University Games ang beteranong si Martin Jacob Pupos ng National University.

Si Pupos ay nakasungkit ng gintong medalya sa Australia, Singapore at Thailand.

Ang mga malalaking kompetisyon sa labas ng bansa na sasalihan pa ng PSL ay ang World Univer­sity Games sa Taiwan, Royal  Bangkok Swimming Meet at Phuket Invitational Swimming Championship sa Thailand at Indian Ocean All Star Challenge sa Australia.

Gagawaran ng mga me­dalya ang tatlong ma­ngu­ngunang swimmers sa mga paglalabanang events habang tropeo ang ibibigay sa Most Outstan­ding Swimmer sa bawat dibisyon.

Tatanggap naman ng President’s Trophy bukod sa P1,500 premyo ang isang lalaki at babae na ma­kakakuha ng pinakama­taas na International Swimming Federation (FINA) points.
