UST, UP nagbida sa SMART taekwondo
MANILA, Philippines – Dinomina ng University of Santo Tomas at ng University of the Philippines ang labanan sa men’s at women’s senior competition sa SMART national inter-school taekwondo championships sa Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Sumipa ng apat na gold medals ang female fighters ng UST, habang kumuha ng tatlo ang male jins ng UP sa kani-kanilang mga dibisyon.
Sina bantamweight Princess Zenia Delis, featherweight Anne Jeshlin Gas, light welterweight Jovy Lou Meguillo at middle heavyweight Reign Charm Ragutana ang mga nagbigay ng ginto para sa UST.
Nagmula naman ang mga ginto ng UP kina flyweight Daniel Paringit, featherweight Karlos Gaerlan at lightweight Rommel Gargoles.
Ang iba pang gold medalists sa women’s senior division ay sina finweight Irene Bermejo ng Ateneo at flyweight Stephanie Osio ng UP.
Sina finweight Rhayzon Jarielle Catris ng UST, bantamweight Kurt Bonifacio ng Ateneo, lightweight Isaiah Bert Lorbes ng UST at middleweight Michael Emman Lapor.
Ang mga nagwagi naman sa PLDT Home Bro poomsae competition ay sina Alyssa Llenes ng University of San Carlos, Cebu (grade school); Clement Tan ng Ateneo de Cebu (Cadet male); Aidaine Laxa ng USC Cebu (Cadet female); McAvyngyr Alob ng DLSU (junior male); Rinna Babanto ng DLSU (junior female); Ronnel Avenido ng DLSU (senior male B); Yuei Murillo ng UST (senior female B); Vidal Marvin Gabriel ng UST (senior male A); at Jocel Lyn Ninobla ng UST (senior female A).
